What Have We Been Up To?

The answer is trifold and packed full like a Costanza wallet.

  1. Writing our first feature film has taken up the majority of our time, but in that time we’ve come away with a really great first draft that we are proud of. Tentatively titled, “The Origins of Wit and Humor”, our film is about a comedy writer struggling to live with the need for validation and where that validation comes from . Heavy on dialogue based comedy in the vain of Woody Allen, there are also some elements of magical realism and even an homage that harkens back to the slapstick comedy of  the silent film era. We’re currently working on the second draft and from all the feedback we’ve gotten on the first draft, we’ve found that people really seem to enjoy it and have some laugh out loud moments.
  2. We have been approached by a local production company to possibly produce or help produce our feature.  They really love the script and we have been sent a development contract. We obviously have some questions before we sign anything and are supposed to talk with them next week about the terms and specifics.
  3. After nearly 2 years sitting in a post production hell at Columbia College Chicago, our black and white, Twilight Zone inspired comedy, A Sip From a Certain Fountain, is finally done and ready to see the light of day. We’re really happy with how it turned out and with the new original music by Luke Anderson. We’ll post it online after our premiere party and screening this Saturday.

I think that’s all I have so far but stay with us as we get our new website online with this blog integrated into it. 2010 is feeling good for DimeStore.

We Love You All,
